A MAGICAL PLACE TO CREATE & CONNECT

What artists are saying about AIR Studios Santa Fe

JOIN US IN MAGICAL SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO, USA.

Some say it’s the light that has always attracted artists. Some say there is something magical or mystical about this fabled place. From the city’s founding in 1609 to the present, art has been integrally entwined with this beautiful magical place called “the City Different”.

SHARE YOUR WORK & PROCESS WITH THE PUBLIC DURING OPEN STUDIOS

Artists in residence have the very unique opportunity to share their work and process with visitors during open studios. It’s a wonderful way to connect directly with art lovers and collectors in the Santa Fe market and beyond, because we have so many visitors to Santa Fe.

Each studio is set up with a well-lit “gallery wall” for showcasing work you created during your residency or brought from home.

GIVE YOURSELF THE TIME TO FOCUS ON YOUR WORK WITHOUT THE DAILY DISTRACTIONS.

Spend your days immersed in your work in beautiful Santa Fe. By surrounding yourself with other visionary artists, cutting out distractions, and having the luxury of focusing solely on your work for a dedicated amount of time, you’ll see a positive impact on your practice and leave energized and inspired.

CONNECT WITH OTHER RESIDENT ARTISTS AND MAKE LIFETIME FRIENDS.

Welcome.

We’re so excited to have you come visit us at AIR Santa Fe!

It’s a magical and inspirational place where you can focus solely on your work, connect with artists and buyers, and disconnect with the day-to-day. Take a wander on one of bikes into the hills around our building, take in a few incredible NM sunsets, create new and exciting work, explore the art scene in Santa Fe, and connect with other artists and new buyers.

IS YOUR FOCUS ON STUDIO TIME, OPEN STUDIOS, OR BOTH?

Open Studios are busiest on weekends when there is a gallery opening, and visitor traffic is lighter on weekends that are not an opening weekend. If your priority is Open Studios, selling, and connecting with new buyers, we recommend you schedule your week the same time as one of our gallery openings.

If you’re more interested in studio time, quiet and disconnection from daily life and distractions, book any week that is not an opening weekend.

While Open Studios are held every weekend, and the public is permitted to tour the studio wing of the building, we’ve found that non-gallery opening weekends in general have much less visitors.

Participating in Open Studios is not required. If you do not want visitors in your studio, consider renting a premium studio that has a door, and simply close the door for privacy during public hours.

Facilities

OUR LAND & LOCATION

Sitting on over two acres, our beautiful sprawling Adobe building is located just a few short minutes outside of Santa Fe in the Eldorado-Lamy area

There is plenty of good walking directly outside the studios on quiet country roads, where you can take in the incredible high desert mountain views, numerous horse stables, and possibly see some of the of resident wildlife such as coyotes, deer, ravens and tarantulas (and if you’re very lucky, some resident bobcats). Or, take one of our bikes for a ride!

OUR BUILDING

Our building is a one story traditional Adobe style seen all over the Southwest. We have plenty of outdoor spaces to hang out in, a wood beamed lobby with a wood burning fireplace for snowy days, an eat in kitchen for artists only, dining tables, and more. We share our large building with Jen Tough Gallery. AIR Studios occupies one wing of the building, and the gallery and management the other wing.

AMENITIES

We have a kitchen with a microwave, drip coffee, tea kettle, refrigerator for storing lunches, free coffee, tea and water. We have lots of lounging and gathering spaces indoors and out (look for our new artist patio with fire pit coming spring 2024!)

Enjoy our two bikes w/ helmets anytime you like to take a ride on the winding, paved country roads.
